River Voices is a community choir based in Echuca. We have members from Kyabram, Gunbower, Deniliquin, Bamawm, Wyuna, Tongala, and of course, Echuca Moama. You might have seen us at an ANZAC service, at our concerts, or singing christmas carols.
We're a non-auditioning choir open to adults of all abilities. From shower singers to professional music teachers, or those who'd love to sing but were told they're 'tone deaf' - we have a place for you. We'd love for you to come along and have a go!
We meet weekly during school terms at the Echuca Uniting Church Chapel from 7pm Wednesday's, cnr Hare and Pakenham Streets, Echuca. All you need to bring is a bottle of water.
Rehearsals typically start with a quick catch up, bit of a stretch, and a laugh before we get stuck into it with a vocal warm up. We sing a variety of styles and genres, with songs in multi-part harmony, unison, a capella and accompanied.
In the past we have collaborated with Bella A Capella (also Echuca based), Con Spirito Voices (from Deniliquin), Victoria Welsh Choir, Southern Voices, and Excelsis.
Our members have participated in the Festival of 1000 Voices in Yarrawonga (2019), as well attending workshops and training courses throughout the year.
"I love the variety of styles, having some easier and some more challenging pieces, the opportunities to sing with other choirs, to be able to make mistakes, learn and laugh in a friendly and supportive group."
"It's the highlight of my week. I've met some amazing men and women during the 5 years I've been a choir member. It's time to just be myself, squeaks and all."
"It's very rewarding to come together from all over our community to participate in something that simply cannot be done alone."
RiverVoices is dedicated to making music for everyone! We work hard to be a resource for our community.
Have ideas about how we could do that better?
We are always looking for members to help us make our vision a reality.
Our purpose is to share in the joy of singing and to promote the development of musical excellence in our community. The choir is committed to achieving a high standard of performance across a broad range of repertoire.
Come along to a rehearsal and we'll help you find your voice.
Choirs need audiences too!
We'd love to see you at our concerts and other events throughout the year as advertised on our facebook page.
Thank you for your support.
